"Dot-com"
Objective: Create new corporate identity for Knowledge Discovery One.
Problem: Existing corporate name was long, unwieldy, and just plain dated. The client wanted a strong, contemporary dot-com Web presence, but its existing logo and the Web were like oil and water.
Solution: Abbreviated the name to KD1, which is easier to say and remember. Also, it lends itself to a more compelling graphic solution. It looks dot-commish, doesn't it?
